About the Author

Dr. Muhammad Abdul Bari is an educationalist, academic and community worker with a PhD and PGCE from King's College London and a Management degree from the Open University. He has worked as an Air Force Officer, Researcher in Physics, Science Teacher and now as an advisory teacher of Behaviour Support in London . He has been advising the ODPM, CRE and London Mayor's Office on faith and community issues. He is a Trustee of Muslim Aid, an international Charity. He is a non-executive Director of the LOCOG ( London organising Committee of the Olympic Games 2012). He is currently the Chairman of East London Mosque and London Muslim Centre. He was president of Islamic Forum Europe and Deputy Secretary General of Muslim Council of Britain. He has authored books on Muslim Families, Parenting and Identity. He is a facilitator on parenting skills programme and the main consultant of Amana Parenting (www.amanaparenting.com). He writes on youth and community issues.
